Dysart and Tieri

I only did a short stint in Dysart and Tieri but can say these areas are very baron and not much to see and do here... I have included a few photos of my brief time here.
Dysart is around 3 1/2 hours South West of Mackay and Tieri is half way between Dysart and Blackwater. Both are towns have a population in between 2000 - 3000 people. As a result of the mining boom times these towns were formed and provided the promise of long term jobs. Since the decline in mining Tieri is tiny with very little to offer the locals. Even the IGA is sparsely stocked. Both towns are more reliant on Emerald or Moranbah for shopping choices.

Special: Coral Trout with a Caper Butter Sauce on warm Potato Salad, Spinach and Asparagus.

On your way from Dysart to Mackay you will find a little town called Nebo.
One hour and 26 mins North West of Dysart is Moranbah. They have a small shopping center including Baby Target and Woolworth's. The town also boasts KFC - which everyone around these remote areas seam to drive there for.
I thought this was a funny site for a city gal.... in the middle of the street with not much else around you will find this machine that makes Ice and Provides Water.

Special: Firthy Beer Battered Coral Trout and Calamari with a Lime Aioli.

This was a $15 Special I cam up with to promote the release of the Boutique Brewed Firthy Beer.
Special: Pepperonata Steak. I do this special quite often as it is very popular. The sauce is made with Red Capsicum, Onion and Tomato and is cooked slowly with White Wine Butter and Seasoning. Sometimes I add a pinch of Paprika for a little kick.
Special: Penne Pasta with Asparagus, Onion, Pumpkin, Pesto and Garlic Cream with Fried Pumpkin Garnish.

This is another dish I do frequently due to popularity.
In Tieri there is quite a bit of active bird life. I watched these beautiful Cockatoos and Galah for hours.

The Foliage is amazing.... a lot of Gum-trees,  Bottle-brush and Wattle Trees.

Yes more Cockatoos and Galah.

They are very noisy in the afternoon when feeding.
