Mackay

Mackay is a nice long drive of around 970kms north of Brisbane. Or 3 hours north east of Dysart or 3 hours north of Rockhampton. Depending on where you are driving from there are Sugar Cane fields to be seen for miles. A massive Sugar Cane factory lies to the South West of the City. I found many great places of interest in Mackay.
Many beautiful Palm and Coconut Trees are everywhere throughout Mackay.
One of Mackay's beaches. As you can see the sand is almost an orange colour.
You can see little Islands from the main land which form part of the Barrier Reef.

There are massive big Tug Boats at the Mackay Harbour. They are brightly coloured and sit almost proudly amongst the yaught club.

Mackay lighthouse, at the harbour, is right near an amazing fish and chip shop. There is a tavern and many other restaurants to visit here....if I only had more time...lol.
This is the view, driving into, Slade Point.  A coastline filled with Palm Trees.

I found two awesome restaurants whilst in Mackay.... to the left and below are the meals I ate at "Lets Do Greek".

I stayed at the Coral Cay Resort at Mackay. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was quiet comfortable and I felt like I had the whole resort to myself, even though it was Easter weekend.
